Cultural Communities

The San Rocco Festival began in Sarnia in 1972. Our goal is to preserve this annual tradition honouring Saint Rocco through religious celebrations, cultural activitites, delicious food, live music and fun for all ages for many years to come.

This non-profit organization, which originated in Detroit, Michigan, was established in Sarnia in June of 1978.  Its purpose in 1932, was designed to assist Italian immigrants who left their homeland for the good of their families.

The Sarnia group was formulated and over the years, its members have in many ways, been involved in the Italian-speaking community and of course non-Italian.  Fundraisers have been held to support natural disaster relief victims and other causes within the Parish and community.  Members have been called upon their labour skills to work together to raise funds.

The group meets approximately six times a year at Our Lady of Mercy Parish Hall.
Everyone in the community are always welcome to attend the mass at Our Lady of Mercy Church held on the first Sunday in October each year which honours Our Lady of the Rosary.

For more information, please contact Dino De Carolis through the office of the church cluster.
